About Jibber Jabber with Jodi

Hi, I’m Jodi.

I am a writer, musician, podcaster, coffee enthusiast, lifelong question-asker, and someone who has never been especially good at keeping one curiosity neatly separated from another.

Jibber Jabber with Jodi is where those curiosities meet.

Here you will find personal essays, conversations about culture and fandom, reflections on Star Trek and science fiction, and stories about the ordinary moments that unexpectedly become something more. Sometimes those stories begin with a convention, a television episode, a cup of coffee, or a suitcase I was entirely too confident I knew how to pack.

They usually lead somewhere I did not expect.

Why “Jibber Jabber”?

Because meaningful conversations do not always announce themselves as meaningful.

Sometimes they begin with a ridiculous observation, an old memory, a story we love, or a question that refuses to leave us alone. Jibber Jabber with Jodi makes room for those conversations and follows them wherever they lead.

What you’ll find here

You can expect essays about curiosity, connection, identity, fandom, storytelling, representation, activism, and trying to do a little more good in a chaotic world.

Star Trek appears frequently. Coffee is rarely far away.

About Jodi

I grew up in the Midwest and built a life that has included music, teaching, podcasting, writing, activism, travel, and more career turns than the younger version of me could have imagined.

I am also a co-host of CloneStar Podcast, where I talk about Star Trek with friends from across the galaxy. JJwJ is my independent writing home, where I can stay with a question longer and explore the personal stories underneath it.

If you are curious about stories, people, possibility, or why a television show about space can still have something urgent to say about being human, you are in the right place.
